I even got a $1 download credit, I've never downloaded a song in my life and don't plan to start, but I guess it's the thought that counts.

 

Not even that big of Floyd fan, but couldn't resist at $23.97 which is what I also paid each for Bill Evans' Consecration and The Complete Fantasy Recordings. And free 2 day shipping on all. Over $500 of sets for $72.

 

Bummer they Floyd set is back to normal price.

Well done to anyone who got in on those crazy prices. I managed to get some good deals in the past but not this good!

No, those sales are accessed through the "gold box" and limited to one of each item per person. They area also limited to a specified number of the item. Here, you could buy at least 3 of most items, and the sale just ended all at once...

Because I was worried about that, I placed orders as soon as I found anything I wanted. In the end I canceled one order so I could re-add its item to another one to get free shipping on both of them. (Yes, I'm that cheap! )

I actually only ended up ordering three box sets. I figured there was no use ordering things that I don't think I'd ever listen to, just because the price was good. I figure I'd rather let the items go to homes that would appreciate them, assuming we all get what we ordered.

Mostly correct. This "sale" didn't end all at once. I noticed that one of the Genesis box sets returned to normal price while the other two remained at $14 for another half hour. And people were posting about some items having returned to normal prices while I was still finding other deals.

If this was intentional on Amazon's part, I'm wondering whether each title simply returned to its previous price once a certain number of copies had been ordered. We'll probably never know, but we should know soon enough whether any or all of these orders are fulfilled at the low prices that were displayed early this afternoon.

 

Day late and a dollar short.
I became very excited when I saw the title to this thread, but when I linked onto Amazon the insane pricing was no longer. Bummer.
Cannot complain too much since I was one of the few who was lucky enough to benefit from BMG's similar sale a year or two ago. My take for that "sale" was as plentiful as kwadguy's score. Amazon's jazz selection is much better than BMGs was, and for that I am truly sorrow I missed this one.

 

Ordered all the Genesis boxes - but missed out on the Doors and Floyd.
If anyone would like a trade, when the boxes arrive...
