Amazon had insane prices on many boxsets*

They probably cleared out their stock and have to reorder.

 

CRAP ! got the Floyd ,
but missed on the Miles Cellar
Door & Motown !

 

That might be Amazon's defense, too.

 

I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but, man, I wish I had realized that the Miles Davis Cellar Door set was part of this blowout. I wasted ten minutes trying to figure out whether the Doors' Perception set at the fire sale price contained the CDs and the DVDs, or just the CDs. I guess I should have just bought it and figured that out later.

 

This will go down as the "The Great Box Set Blowout of 2009!"

 

I expect this was a real sale, since on most of these items, there was a customer limit of 3 imposed--they don't do that for normal sales...

On the other hand, the quick reversion to regular prices on everything makes one wonder...

I think Amazon computers had a momentary lapse of reason...on the Genesis box 1970-1975, for example it now says:You save 13,99, but 13,99 was the price showing up for sale not too long ago..

I saw the Cellar Door set for not too much on Amazon.co.uk, so I am not really worried about that. I am unhappy that they changed the prices, while I was trying to order the Motown set. Unhappy in the sense that I was too slow to complete the order before they changed it. I am not mad that they changed it.

 

They still have the Doors hardback book for $12.65 if anybody's interested. As of 5 minutes ago.

 

I ordered that as well as 2 Stax boxes, 2 Genesis boxes, the Pink Floyd box, Wes Montgomery Riverside, Miles Davis Montreux, Perceptions, and Complete Motown #1's.

Let's see what I actually get.

 

Received confirmation on the Alice Cooper Box Set at $19.97, with an estimated ship date of next Monday.

Well I was able to get 3 of the Pink Floyd Box & 3 of The Doors Box before the door closed! But...I didn't know about all the other ones here!!!!! I am grateful but sorry that I missed out on Eric Dolphy, Miles, Faces, Hendrix, Creedence, Genesis (70-75), stax, motown, Hank Williams, etc., etc....
Hey look if anyone wants to trade any Box Sets from this sale...
I want one Pink Floyd for myself, but would trade both of the others & would even consider trading all three Doors Box Sets (though I might keep one) just let me know...

Think they'll honor this? They've done this in the past with Genesis boxsets and honored the price. The Kinks import box they didn't honor.
