Amazon.com has some CRAZY CD PRICES right now!!!

I'm not sure this was a mistake. Maybe they needed to clear out some stock and also generate a little buzz. They certainly succeeded in doing both!

Well [sniffle], I hope you all enjoy your new cheap CDs [whimper]. Don't worry about me; I'll be fine [sigh], just sitting here, in the dark, alone, listening to my crappy old regular-price CDs [sob].

But I'm not bitter.

 

It could be done for marketing purposes to gather data. They take a haircut on those CDs in order to see how many buyers will take advantage of the deal. It helps with setting price points and recommendation algorhithms.

Of course, someone could have put a decimal point in the wrong place.

 

I got the Elvis Legacy Edition bundle from Popmarket just last week and also got the most essential Dylan stuff on vinyl/cd...
So..I could have gotten couple really cool albums but..did not after all.
Got so much new music anyways to play here.

Congrats to anyone who had great savings here!
Im not jealous at all, just good that I happened search Amazon while on work and looked for couple Miles Davis sets, then I realized there were many albums on so low price..and the "thing" had started.
Helping out some forum-members here and maybe even I will too grab some nice albums whenever theres next thing like these coming up.

I just grabbed 21 titles for $13. Some of the pricing is being corrected though. A couple of Paul Simon discs price out at $10 when they hit your cart.

We will see if this stuff ships.

 

I'm betting on "mistake". It strikes me as odd that they were still taking orders at drastically reduced prices, even on items that were listed as "temporarily out of stock". That's a weird way to run a clearance sale.

Barely made it out....17 titles for $29.00 shipped. Everything from Legacy Edition of Elvis' debut album ($2.60) to George Michael's "Older".

I'm not either....after all, the titles were from one record company, which, from my vantage point, has always pressed large quantities of cd's...there may have been tons of unsold inventory, and Amazon did report that weak quarter yesterday

 

got 60 titles for $85, just under the wire apparently. Thanks for the head's up.

 

I don't think this was a mistake at all. I think this is just how Amazon's system works. Sometimes prices drop crazy low for a brief period of time. Why? Don't ask me, I didn't write their pricing algorithm.

I got another order in before prices went back to normal. Heck, if I went overboard I can sell some of this stuff and make my money back.

Surrealistic Pillow is a repurchase. I just mentioned to my girlfriend the other day that we needed to replace her copy that went missing before she moved. She already owns the Sweetheart of the Rodeo, but the slipcover is severely damaged and I'm so anal that it bothers me. The fun part is going to be figuring out how to explain to her yet another copy of both Time Out and Kind of Blue...like the vinyl, sacds and previous cds (dualdisc in the case of Kind of Blue) aren't enough copies already...

 

About half my order is shipping soon. Some of the titles I ordered were not in stock at the moment. Gotta wait those out.

 

it's funny reading the amount of cd's some of you got, and the total price paid....I couldn't go to the worst used cd place, and buy the worst/cheapest junk they have, and come out with lower prices than y'all got

If you have Prime then it's like some of these cds were almost free with just a small handling charge. I think I need a diaper.

 

The only bad thing with these discount-sales is that some people are gonna make profit out of it.
Not talking any forum-members but everyone knows the sort of street barker that tries to take profit out of anything possible be it music, concert-tickets etc.
