Steve did the CD and cassette masterings.

Greg Fulginiti at Artisan cut the LP from Steve's tapes.

First one I thought of also... When I got here and went back to listen to that CD a light bulb went off. Not only a really good record, that CD to me just sounds "right". This is what rock and roll sounds like. Also a rare example of when an LP/CD with a different track selection/order for USA vs. Europe actually resulted in us getting the better album.

Who's Next and Buddy Holly's I already owned and I was delighted to find out they were Steve's when I first got here. I have since acquired a few more... on purpose this time. :)

Likewise. One of my favorite Pixies tracks AND surf instrumentals ever.

I think the only one I had before hitting these here boards was the Buddy "Original Master Tapes" CD, which I'd owned since high school.

Two come to mind right away: Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes' Ultimate Collection CD and a Razor and Tie Robert Gordon CD.

  7. I'm curious does anyone know who mastered the CD version of 'Legend" by Poco? I know Steve mastered a version that was never released but i'd be curious since there isn't a mastering credit.

Did Steve's mastering make it onto the Two-Fer CD of "Moanin In The Moonlight" and the Rocker Chair album?

I almost bought it but opted for the original Japan for US instead. I never knew he did it.

How does it sound compared ?

Yes same for me right there, ended up going for the remastered version and it just wasn't the same. Finally got it back last year though!

Two of my first CDs were Who's Next and the Buddy Holly - bought them at Crazy Eddie's (maybe even on the same Friday night) circa 1987!
