Adhesive labels on the top of CD cases

Of course it can, and the .01% of CDs that take this route, and end up being returned to the distributor, do beat the system. That's irrelevant compared to the days when all opened CDs were returnable. You need to look at the big picture. To the labels, security seals have accomplished their goal very well.

And don't worry, they can always add another strip to the bottom if it becomes necessary.

 

I don't mind them if I can get the jewel case apart and peel them off. What really burns me up is when they do it to SACD's. I don't want to attempt to pry open an SACD case for fear of breaking it. So I have to look at that stupid, ugly meal secruity tab instead of the SACD artwork.

I use the sticker itself to remove the left over residue on both CD's & DVD'S.

It will also take the sheen off some cases...

 

Scotch tape works well also. Those are the two best ways, I think.

Ugh. Thought these were going to die off, but no. Still seeing these adhesive labels on newer releases. Really sucks on the "Super Jewel Box" style that Analogue Productions uses since they're harder to un-hinge.
