Indeed, some of it is but not all. I was really hoping for better from these pressings though. I'm sure the boys wouldn't be too pleased to know that their 50th Anniversary offerings may be subpar. Well, some of them at least.
those prices make me all the more thankful i picked up orignals for 1-2 dollars a piece several years back!
It used to be possible. When I got back into vinyl in 2016 I bought a bunch of common albums off ebay for $1-5 a piece.
I've never paid much for any AC/DC album and I have them all up to The Razor's Edge in excellent condition, mostly UK original pressings. They were quite common cheap once.
I still don't get it why people who own old original albums buy these reissues over and over again...what's the reason...??? I am fine with my old collection (first three on 80s ALBERT LPs, other albums from Germany and USA) and would never think about buying reissues just for the sake of having them in my shelves.
It really is. my comment was more to do with not all that long ago AC/DC vinyl wasn't all that wanted. It was a steady seller but quite common and inexpensive second hand. It's a very recent thing that it's become expensive. I'm not talking 20 years ago they were cheap, I was still seeing and buying them for £5 - £10 as recently as 5 years ago in excellent condition at record fairs and shops. I upgraded a lot of mine around then. It was the same with Iron Maiden but theirs were a little bit more expensive and less common.
About 7 years ago I was trading in some records at a local store. He had just gotten in all the Australian AC/DC albums exccpt Powerage. He gave them to me fir $50 each, best deal I ever got. However to get Powerage it cost me $300 last year.
I just ordered the gold For Those About To Rock as it's my favourite album. Has anyone got all 9 of the gold Vinyl and how bad/good are they? Was gonna order them all in one go but not if they sound terrible.
