    Not for the lyrics as much as the sound of Bono's vocals along with the composition of the music -- building from a slow tempo to mid-tempo, all combined with the orchestration.

    Ok, this one by Yanni just gets me every time. When you listen to the song on the album you don't know if you're listening to one or two violinists trading-off, and/or playing together at some point.
    But on the video you can see it's just her. She is as adept at playing the violin the way Eddie Van Halen is on the guitar. If you're not moved by this, I don't know what to tell you.
    Her 2-1/2 minute solo begins at the 4-minute mark and finishes out the song. Enjoy.

    Surprised I never got around to contributing something to this thread. Maybe so many have dropped my jaw, but didn't choke me up...until dodie Clark revisited an earlier song, for last years' Build A Problem...

    Wondering when it's all gonna start...haven't we all been there...?

    A so-called "debut" album from a woman who's been revealing herself on Th'Tube for over a decade now, and just constantly amazes me with her endlessly-revealed talents.

    “If” by Bread. Combination of meaningful (to me) lyrics and a simple beautiful melody line.

    Sunday by Stephen Sondheim. This recording was made in Times Square on the Sunday after he passed. The song closes Act I of Sunday in the Park With George about the painter George Seurat (in the first act). It marks the completion of his work “Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grand Jatte.”

    Diary does it too for an entirely different reason.

    If you've never really listened to the lyrics, gut punch warning ahead:

  19. Same with "Everything I Own" (for me) ;

    When I read the song was for Gates' father, it took it to a very different depth.
