Absolutely. The very first LP to come off the line could be in cover #358.
For all we know the first 50 pressed LPs may be in covers #501 -#550. And those were mailed to Hong Kong the very first day. Limited number edition is just a number on the cover.

what are some examples of things that would make a test pressing rejected exactly?

Just about anything. Maybe the pressing is off-center.

that would add a highly collectable "value" to a test pressing?

No. Just the fact that it is a test makes it collectable.
 I don't buy them, but some people like to collect stuff just because it is a test. OTOH, it doesn't have to be a rejected test. It can be an approved test.

I got mine last night and when I played it my jaw dropped! This reissue has exceeded my expectations. Congratulations, Steve, on a phenomenal mastering effort.

I have #0269. If I remember correctly, Gort Mike Cowan (mcow1) has #0268 (kind of a cool coincidence...we became Gorts at the same time). :)

The thing I notice most about it is the bass response. At the beginning of "O Tannenbaum," the double bass just leaps out of the right speaker. The solos are all loud and clear. And you can hear Vince's left hand throughout the solo in the middle of "Skating."

I've heard the CDs a jillion times, but this truly was like hearing it for the very first time. Good job!

    =B.
