That's my vote for this years best classic cd release.

    Rock Steady.

Just got an e-mail from Music Direct outlining their top sellers of the year in various categories.
Top selling gold disc ?: Bad Company, ahead of a bunch of their own MoFi's

    http://www.musicdirect.com/products/topsellers.asp?cat=10&display=100

8th was the MoFi of Cream's Goodbye.

They must have inherited a bunch of them when they bought the company.

I love this cd, it was already one of my favorites and Steve made it so cool to listen too. Remaster of the year, for sure.:righton: :righton:

Hopefully Marshall made enough money (he deserves it!) that he can do some more Gold CDs

Strange. Listening this one right now!

The title track is amazing. Is it too much to ask that other remasters even get remotely close to this much love/attention/good sound?

Also good to see Peep Purple & Montrose cracking the 11 and 12 spots respectively.

I don't see anything on that music direct page that says that's the #1 gold disk of the year, although it does show up at the top of the list.

I'd go with #2 as being the best gold disk of the year (Zappa).

Bad Company sounds so good. The only thing I could hope for would be a Bad Company matched set - Bad Company with a follow up of Straight Shooter!

I'm one of the weird ones that likes Straight Shooter as much, or more so than the debut. So, that would be GREAT to see, but unlikely. Hope I'm wrong!

Not weird at all, I think Desolation Angels is right up there with the debut.

Which has been out for what, ten years?

  16. Count me in for another big nod to the Bad Co. AF CD. Steve did an unblievable job on this one.

    Hangin' in there at fifteen.

Although, I'm not sure about the accuracy of this list. In a matter of hours Yes went from 4 to 3 and DP/Montrose flip-flopped ... hmmmm.

It's a big, big improvement against the regular remaster... I'm so happy AF could do that for their last Gold remaster :(

SH's BAD CO is the balls! and the way he left in a couple of in between/pre-song riffs - Rock Steady, etc. make a well known/listened to set of LP songs into a very interesting listen again! Besides the glorious sound -those little tweaks do it for me!:righton:

Any extra tidbits on The FACES ANAGAAW like that?
Does it have the infamous polaroid poster?

Steve truly did do an amazing job on this title, as always. I also love the couple of tracks that have the studio chatter before the song actually starts. It adds a little freshness to an album that I've heard SO many times. It really would have been great if Steve could have done "Straight Shooter" as well, probably my favorite Bad Company album.

I must say though, that if you don't have or can't find the AF version of "Bad Company", the original CD mastered by Barry Diament sounds very, very nice too, & is only a tiny notch below Steve's mastering of this album, IMO. Steve's is preferable to me, but you really can't go wrong with either version.
Just avoid the remaster from the mid-90's.

It's great, but I vote for John Phillips - John the Wolfking of LA (waited years for that to come on cd).
