My guess would be just before Thanksgiving ... but DDD has been having some killer sales over the last 6 months that beat the semi-annual 20% Off Sale by a long shot ... i.e. certain $14.98 MSRP DVDs for $3 ...

I may be wrong on this, but I thought that they had the 20% sale twice a year.

The first time is in the summer--I think in June or July, and the second time is--well, someone already said before Thanksgiving--so I'll say the second time is in November/December.

The sale last somewhere between 7-14 days, if my memory serves me correctly.

I usually save up a list to buy at these two times, though I do buy some DVDs throughout the year. And of course, the best thing about the 20% sale is that EVERYTHING is included.

I don't know how others find out about this sale, but different DVD offers are listed at the beginning of www.dvdpricesearch.com. Hope that helps.

The best place to check on the sale is in the dvd bargains section of DVDTalk - heres the link. They recently put up a FAQ on the sale and as soon as it starts there will be immediate postings about the codes to use.

Ironically, there is a 50% off sale going on right now ( I just happened to see it) with some big dollar box sets included such as the Emma Peel Collection and some of the other pricier A&E sets included. ($100+)

question is, will the prices remain the same before the 20% off sale?

    Yet another question...

Will the 20% off sale also apply to the sister site, deepdiscountcd.com ?!

It never has before, so most likely, no.

I keep my dvd want list on a spreadsheet and over the past few years I've included the ddd prices as one of the fields. During the course of a year some prices do go up, usually in the range of 5% or so, and some prices actually come down. But most of the prices remain the same. I've seen no evidence that they raise all prices across the board just before their semi-annual sales.
