I am waiting for the SH forum librarian to step in.

For me, I like the first U.S. pressing on Columbia. MFSL sounds good, others will say otherwise. I have not heard the UK Harvest.

Columbia US first pressing c2k 36183, which is the same as the Japanese third pressing, and the Candian 1st pressing. I could be wrong, Dave may have to pipe in here.
I had the mfsl version first and thought it was great, until I heard this one. The first thing that blew my mind were the drums. Simply awesome. You may want to do a thread search for further clarification. There are tons and tons of threads on this one.

I only have the Shine On box and the current US release from the late 90s (which I prefer). I HAD the mfsl (sounded weak) and the Japanese mini-LP sleeve (harsh). I sold both long ago b/c I didn't like the sound.

I personally prefer the Columbia remaster from 1997. It sounds right to these ears.
