I did a search and could not find the an answer to my question. I am looking to find out which (if any) Right Stuff Leon Russell CD's continued to use the Steve Hoffman mastering from the DCC/Shelter days? I had heard "Shelter People" on Right Stuff used Steve's mastering; are there any others?
Barry... I'm not home to check, but from what I recall the Hoffman-related Leon Russell titles were: Leon Russell Leon Russell & The Shelter People Asylum Choir II Carny All That Jazz Hank Wilson's Back Leon Live Keep in mind I am not absolutely sure about all of these. If I am mistaken on any of these titles or have forgotten any, please post and let us know. Thanks. _______________ Steve
Steve, Those look to be the DCC titles that Steve did. My question is whether any of the newer discs on the "Right Stuff" label still use the SH masters from those DCC discs. I am missing a few of the titles (All That Jazz, Live and Asylum Choir II) and was wondering if Steve's mastering is on the newer discs.
AFAIK... the only DCC title released was the extended Leon Russell gold disc ( the one containing the extra tracks exclusive to the DCC gold disc release). I've been told that all the "Right Stuff" discs *do* use Steve's mastering (although it may not say on the outside rear cover art). Will O' The Wisp must have been the title I was trying to recall. Thanks for the update. I was wondering if The Best Of Leon was also done by Steve and if that ever made an appearance on CD? Anyone know? Thanks... Steve
Leon Live Capitol/Right Stuff does NOT use the same mastering as the DCC/Shelter http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=52873
I bought Hank Wilson's Back from Amazon US a few months ago, and I see Steve Hoffman credited with the engineering on the booklet.
