Hopefully the multichannel one they've been working on, although I thought it was going to be SACD. Maybe it will be DVD-Audio, and this is it?

OR it's the SACD simply listed wrong...doubt Sony will do a DVD-A (the Foos was really a BMG product, so.....)..or it's a cruel joke!

Wish You Were Here is on EMI, like Dark Side Of The Moon (which was only a SACD because Sony paid them)

Anybody's guess I suppose, wasn't there some animated footage created for this album?
Can only hope it isn't another "Critical Review".

This has been widely reported as a forthcoming SACD from both James Guthrie and several Pink Floyd fan sites.

It would make total sense that this release is UK only.....

Gerald Scarfe designed the animation for "Welcome to the Machine" that was shown at Floyd concerts. I don't know if any other tracks on that album had animation created ...

There was animation created for "Welcome To The Machine". Some lo-fi still shots can be found here:

My favorite sequence follows this shot:

After it screams, it goes back and begins to "breathe" before it goes for the cut, great animation there. :agree:

Didn't PF have some film footage used in concerts for Shine On You Crazy Diamond too? I don't think it was animation, but something was shown in the round screen.

The baby shown in "The Trial" for the Wall movie that flips over into a leaf was reused from WYWH Scarfe footage.

Gilmour's Floyd, during the Division Bell Tour in '94, did indeed show a really, really well made, trippy non-animated film during SoYcD. It symbolized the life of Syd Barrett and his descent into madness, and was directed by Storm Thorgerson.

You know, I have this horrid thought that WYWH is going to appear as a Dolby Digital only Dualdisc or something :help:

They used this as a music video on MTV during the Pink Floyd weekend for the release of A Momentary Lapse of Reason.

I drew a blank on checking this DVD with several dedicated Pink Floyd fans. None of them had heard anything about it. However, general concensus is the WYWH SACD is expected in the final quarter of this year.

I've ordered the DVD anyway. Whatever it is it will probably be good!
