I just got this from the Acoustic Sounds mailing list
And it looks like AS has already jacked up their prices on the Stones discs...

They are all on sale at amazon, below $15. With free shipping over 25 not a bad deal.

So are these going to be released as remastered redbook CDs to replace the hybrids?

haven't bought one yet. it's the original Londons for me, baby!

Ugh, so now I gotta - oh, man. OK - I don't have time this second but I guess it can't wait. "Memo From Turner" is only on "Metamorphosis" on a single disc in SACD? I have to get so many earlier ones, I guess...

This sucks, but we can't be surprised. The handwriting has been on the wall for pop/rock SACD for some time.

I hate it when people call the new discs 'DSD Redbook'. There's really no such thing as DSD in the Redbook spec. This is just analog->DSD->PCM mastering, at best you can call the DSD one of many forms of noiseshaping.

In 20 years the Dylan and Stones SACDs will be just like quadrophonic lps are today - obsolete reminders of a failed experiment. Of course, collectors will probably pay insane prices for them as well. I've been buying duplicate copies of many of the Dylan SACDs - it looks I may have to start doing thgis for the Stones as well (and picking up some of the titles like Flowers that I skipped the first time around).

Nope, didn't get the US Afermath, US Between the Buttons or Hot Rocks (have the London one). But being me, I may just have to get those now.

Are ther any reasons to get Hot Rocks, the U.S. Between the Buttons and Aftermath, and the U.K. Out of Our Heads, if I have all the rest? (Other than for the artwork?)

    2 things:
    1) Get the Abcko Sam Cooke Portrait of a Legend immediately- the best sounding comp of Cooke period

    2) Can we completely delete this thread so I don't have to pay $ 100 for the SACD's I still need.
