    Pretend that your job is to edit the white album onto a single disk. You must choose ONLY HALF of the songs to stay and half must go. This means 15 songs, max for this game. Here is my perfect white album...insane editing decisions....no filler. See if you can do this in less than 20 minutes. I couldn't....had a REALLY hard time choosing between "Blackbird" and "Glass Onion". Welcome to hell, my friends....good luck:

    Dear Prudence
    Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
    While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    Happiness Is a Warm Gun
    Martha My Dear

    Piggies
    I Will
    Julia
    Sexy Sadie
    Long, Long, Long
    Revolution 1
    Savoy Truffle

    Goodnight

    You've gotta have 2 songs for George, and one for Ringo,
    as that's what the fabs would've done on a single lp in '68

    ps - left out the 2 Revolution versions 'cause they can't top the single

    I no longer agree with all my choices back then so I'll create a new list...

    SIDE A
    * While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    * I Will
    * Sexy Sadie
    * Happiness is a Warm Gun
    * Martha My Dear
    * I'm So Tired
    * Blackbird
    * Glass Onion

    SIDE B
    * Yer Blues
    * Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
    * Savoy Truffle
    * Helter Skelter
    * Dear Prudence
    * Cry Baby Cry
    * Can You Take Me Back?

    I mostly agree with my old choices, but I had to add a 15th song. That was Savoy Truffle. The order of the songs is not perfect. If one song had to be deleted because of time restrictions, I would now scrap Yer Blues.

    Back In The USSR
    Dear Prudence
    Glass Onion
    Happiness Is A Warm Gun
    Martha My Dear
    Blackbird
    Julia
    Birthday
    Yer Blues
    Mother Nature's Son
    Sexy Sadie
    While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    Helter Skelter
    Revolution
    Savoy Truffle

    I may be alone here, but I like the slow version WAY more than the single.

    Too fast, damn it! So "arrivederci" "Yer blues", I prefer Dirty Mac's version anyway. Couldn't believe how many of you folks like to have "Obladi-di" on your version and how few "Revolution Nr. 9", though.

    Here's my old post:

    Here's my 12 track LP! It goes by the old Beatles formula. One track by George on each side, one track by Ringo per album. The rest is divided by John and Paul!

    Side one:
    1) "Back In the U.S.S.R."
    2) "Birthday"
    3) "Dear Prudence"
    4) "Yer Blues"
    5) "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
    6) "I Will"

    Side Two:
    1) "Revolution #1"
    2) "Don't Pass Me By"
    3) "Mother Nature's Son"
    4) "Julia"
    5) "Rocky Raccoon"
    6) "Savoy Truffle"

    Now that we can have 15 songs, I'll revise my list.

    Side one:
    1) "Back In the U.S.S.R."
    2) "Birthday"
    3) "Dear Prudence"
    4) "Yer Blues"
    5) "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
    6) "Happiness Is A Warm Gun"
    7) "I Will"

    Side Two:
    1) "Revolution #1"
    2) "Don't Pass Me By"
    3) "Mother Nature's Son"
    4) "Cry Baby Cry"
    5) "Julia"
    6) "Rocky Raccoon"
    7) "Sexy Sadie
    8) "Savoy Truffle"

    "Revolution #9" is not a "version". Are you kidding? It has nothing to do with the pop song "Revolution", IMO.

  19. I couldn't come up with 15 I wanted to keep! Here's my list, not that I love "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" that much, but it seemed like an opener...

    SIDE 1
    1. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
    2. Cry Baby Cry
    3. Everybody's Got Something To Hide...
    4. Martha My Dear
    5. Savoy Truffle
    6. Mother Nature's Son

    SIDE 2
    1. Dear Prudence
    2. I Will
    3. I'm So Tired
    4. Blackbird
    5. Yer Blues
    6. Julia

    Actually it does have some snippets taken from some rough tapes of "Revolution" in it with John singing (or shouting) "Right" and "All Right" a number of times. The songs are related...it's kind of like a crazy relative of Revolution. :D However, I wouldn't call it a "version of Revolution".

    This is tough. I find myself giving the axe to a lot of stuff I love. Here's what I have left:

    Back in the USSR
    Dear Prudence
    Ob La Di Ob La Da
    While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    Happiness is a Warm Gun
    Rocky Raccoon
    Piggies
    Don't Pass Me By
    Why Don't We Do It In The Road?
    Julia
    Birthday
    Sexy Sadie
    Helter Skelter
    Long Long Long
    Cry Baby Cry

    I find it interesting that I picked most of my songs from the first album.

    This is remarkably easy for me. Since I don't have a nostalgiac connection with the album and find many of the songs to be silly, I'm hard pressed to come up so many I would keep.

    Not in any particular order:
    1. Back in the USSR
    2. While My Guitar Gently Weeps (my favorite tune on the album, 2nd favorite all time Beatles tune)
    3. Blackbird (love this one)
    4. Revolution 1
    5. Helter Skelter (for historical significance I suppose)
    6. Happiness is a Warm Gun
    7. Glass Onion
    8. Don't Pass Me By (Ringo!)
    9. Dear Prudence
    10. I Will
    11. Honey Pie (now I'm starting to run out of songs I like)
    12. Martha My Dear
    13. Yer Blues
    14. Mother Nature's Son
    15. Good Night

    15 is the exact number for me. Anything more is nice, but not necessary. Anything less would have forced a song to be pushed to the next album(whatever form that would have taken in this alternate universe). I have no opinions as to sequence...that's the band's job.

    1. Back in the U.S.S.R.
    2. Dear Prudence
    3. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    4. Happiness Is a Warm Gun
    5. Martha My Dear
    6. I'm So Tired
    7. Blackbird
    8. I Will
    9. Julia
    10. Yer Blues
    11. Mother Nature's Son
    12. Sexy Sadie
    13. Helter Skelter
    14. Long, Long, Long
    15. Revolution 1
