Has anyone dealt with this HK seller? (hkrecords)

Does this seller and his goods seem authentic enough to youse guys and gals?

I usually avoid certain sellers because their region of the world has been given a bad rep by counterfieters, but if anyone else has dealt with this seller, I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Sometimes good feedback doesn't mean it's authentic stuff.

Michael, which one exactly are you referring to? Some look like the legit items and some appear of questionable source.

The Rollins WAY OUT WEST SACD looked interesting, but I'd assume if any of them look like a duck...

 

Yes, probably the safest alternative I think.

 

I have purchased a few SACDs from this seller and have been pleased with all of them. If they were selling fakes, I doubt they'd have 100% feedback with that many transactions.

 

After closer examination I believe these to legitimate releases made in "The far East". Personally, for the few dollars more it costs I'd get the made in USA versions myself just to be certain.

I purchased something a while back, no problems.

 

Purchased my Mark Knopfler "Shangri-La" SACD from this seller for US$17.99. No problems at all. Disc was made in the EU by Universal.

I checked the provided link....all of the items are legit. Actually, even though the seller is located in Hong Kong, the discs most likely originated from somewhere else. For example, the Sarah Brightman SACDs are released exclusively by Hong Kong EMI but they were made in Germany. I don't believe they are other versions of these titles. The only US-made SACDs released by a HK record label are the single-layer titles for local artists from HK Warner Music, HK Sony Music, and a couple of local labels; all of these were pressed by Sony out of Terre Haute, Indiana.



The Sonny Rollins "Way Out West" SACD was released by HK Naxos.

 

My guess is this "hkrecords" is not an individual but is the "Hong Kong Records" which is a distributor/retail store in Hong Kong, very reputable, reasonable price (that means higher than the small retail shops but may be cheaper than HMV) and good service.
