Eric Matthews actually has a new album out, his first in eight years. It's really a mini-album, just seven songs. Not bad, some nice music, but it lacks the lush orchestrations of his 90s albums (apart from his own trumpet playing) and is even more lyrically awkward than his earlier work. It is called "Six Kinds of Passion Looking For An Exit." There's a song on it called "Cardinal is More" where he apologizes to Richard Davies in song for screwing up their partnership. Apparently they are thinking of making another record together.

The bonus tracks on the Cardinal reissue didn't look that interesting -- looked like it was demos and short instrumentals, mostly. But I'd like to hear if there is something really worthwhile on it.
