Kinks 'Pye Albums' 10 CD Box Coming

April 24 sees the release of 'The Pye Albums', a 10 CD box from the Kinks.

As I understand it, the reissued versions of the Pye albums in 2004 did not feature update the 1998 remastering (aside from the 'Village Green' deluxe edition), so I'd be suprised if this set will be newly remastered.

According to Amazon.UK it is a Castle release.

Sorry about that!! Went looking for furthur info and the internet connection crapped out.

I was doing some digging on the Sanctuary Castle web page to see if it mentioned anything about "remastering" but unfortunately it does not give any info other than the release date and says that the track listing is to be confirmed.

 

10 cd's for £35.99??? that can't be right....

 

I paid less than £10 for the three-disc Village Green deluxe edition. If anything I bought new ever was dirt cheap, that was it. I only hope they keep offering these kind of prices, which the £35.99 price tag suggests.

 

Any word on when it will be available in the US?

 

This could be a nice set, although I don't think I'll bother with it if its just the 1998 remasters together in a box, as I already have them all.

 

Good old Sanctuary. Milking the PYE back catalogue yet again...

 

..one thing avout the Kinks, you can get 'em cheap!

 

Maybe it'll be nothing more than the mini LP replica editions all shoved into one box.

How was the sound on those, generally? I've got the 1998 Castle ones...not for the sound, but for the comprehensiveness of the bonus material (although as we know they managed to leave out some things nonetheless) and I also replaced my VGPS with the 3-disc one.

But for this price it would be a decent investment if they sound better or have any alternate mixes not available on the '98 reissues?

 

Alternate mixes are there for Something Else (stereo), Face To Face (stereo), and Arthur (mono). All sound quite nice.

No. I'm talking about the already-released UK mini LPs that will make up this box.
