Many hi-fi manufacturers modified their company logos over the years. But to me, Pioneer's modification of its logo was the most shocking. It went from the original....

I prefer the old logo myself. It had distinct features that made it unique. This new one just looks like another modernized corporate logo.

I think the new one looks like it should be on camping gear. I prefer the old one too.

I like the way the new one looks on the recent equipment

As a logo in general, I prefer the old logo, but the new one does look nice on recent equipment as well. My vote still goes for the old one though.

My first ever adventures in "real" audio gear started with a Pioneer stereo receiver + Pioneer CD player. That old logo had a classic, authoritative look about it that is lacking in the newer version.

I like the old one best.

In the new ones, it looks like the "E's" are smiling! I laugh every time I see the new logo, because my eyes go straight to those smiling letter "e's"

I also voted for the original. The new one is not horrible but IMO it looks too casual and "happy" for most of the gear it's applied to. The camping gear comparison made me

BTW: this is embarrassing but for years I thought the original symbol was a pair of simplified/upraised wings, rather than the combination of the symbol for impedance (ohms) and a tuning fork.

    You're right!!

Those "e's" look like a modernized version of "Pac-Man". :)

I can't really vote, because both logos look okay to me. It's not like we're talking about RCA or anything here.

I don't mind the new one. As long as my 45a keeps on playing as well as it has been, they could use wingding fonts for all I care!

I particluarly dislike the new logo in pink. This is what my 565A churns out as a screen-saver and it is hideous compared to the classy one my Panasonic A350 uses.

I voted for the old one. The new one does nothing for me.

The old one makes me think of bad old 70's turntable/8-track/fm/am combination shelf stereos. Ick, ick, ick. I also have the old one on my LD player, and the new one on both my DVD and my cable box.

    I'll take the new one.

Meanwhile, if they ever change the YAMAHA logo, I'll be peeved!

I like the old one. The new one looks like it was designed by farries and elves.

Definitely the old logo. The newer one looks too generic.

I am acting my age, but the old one, to me, has much more "class". The new one seems to convey "cheap" to me. I don't know why, but it does.

The older version gets my vote.

Bought lots of Pioneer stuff along time ago and therefore I have good memories associated with that logo.
