I just discovered that my dad played drums on a Monkees song!

My dad considered himself a jazz drummer primarily. He would have never have admitted to My mom or me to doing a tune with the Monkees. But here it is. Actually it was only with Peter Tork not the rest of the Monkees but it falls under the umbrella of the Monkees. Here is a Youtube link - it is a silly take on California Here I Come. Not much drumming sounds like only a bass drum. Still though, who knew?

The song was also Peter's last with the Monkees and the finale of the TV special, so your dad was in on a piece of history there.

Also tour drummer for Johnny Mathis, Frankie Avalon, 5th Dimension, Pat Boone and Oliver Nelson.

Can you believe I have not got ONE picture of him at a drum set.

Here is the ONLY picture I have of him at any job; Pat Boone's orchestra conductor. This is at a TV broadcast in Israel about 1973.

Wow! didn't know this. My dad may not have really known this either. Likely he was tagging along with Mike Barone to this session.

It truly is. Once I was talking to may dad about Craig Huxley Because I had just opened up his company, Audio Affects, as an Alesis Service Center. He says " Oh yah, Craig's last name used to be Hundley. He hired me in to the Pat Boone Orchestra." :righton:

is this the Craig Hundley who had a jazz trio at a very young age?i remember seeing them on TV,c. 1968 or so.
Pat's parents ended up in a nursing home where a guy i worked with had to put his mother.this same guy was a huge Howard Roberts fan & turned me on
    to Roberts' work.again,it's all connected,somehow...
oh,another question:do you know jazz pianist/recording engineer John Wood ?
