Apologies if this repeats an existing thread but what songs do you like that fill a side of a 33rpm?

I just listened to vahevala on loggins and messina on stage double lp.

    Echoes came immediately to mind!

Listening right now to 'Big Swifty' by Frank Zappa on Waka/Jawaka.
He did a few others: 'Billy the Mountain,' 'Greggery Peccary' and, of course, 'Return of the Son of Monster Magnet.'

Several of Miles Davis's early 70s albums, plus In a Silent Way also come to mind.

Too many to mention. But some great ones are:

    Rare Earth - Get ready
    Iron Butterfly - In-a-gadda-da-vida
    Mike Oldfield - Tubular bells
Allman Brothers Band - Whipping post (live)
    Rush - 2112
Yes - Close to the edge
Dream Theater - A change of seasons *

    * AFAIK this one was only released on CD, but I've always felt that at 23 minutes it would have made a nice side-long album cut.

Close to the Edge was one of my early favourite "all of one side on an album" songs. I thought I was so clever and grown up for listening to one track for that length of time!

    Vangelis - Chariots of fire
Golden Earring - Eight miles high
    Brainbox - Sea of delight

And from the disco era, when this practice became quite common during a few years:

Cerrone - Love in C minor
    Meco - Star Wars theme
Belle Epoque - Black is black/Disco sound
    Alec R. Costandinos - Romeo & Juliet
Donna Summer - Love to love you baby
Donna Summer - Try me/I know we can make it

Mike Oldfield - "Taurus II", "Crises", "Music from the Balcony"

    Lard - "Time to Melt"

Jello Biafra with D.O.A. - "Full Metal Jack0ff"

Edit: Donna Summer has already been mentioned.

It has a better chance than Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands. That's only 11 minutes, Sister Ray is 17.

Pretty much everything ever released by Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Gomez "The Comeback" - all 44 seconds of it fill side 4 of "Bring It On"
Mike Oldfield - part one and two of "Tubular Bells", "Hergest Ridge" and "Ommadawn"
Orbital's "In Sides" album is cut at 33rpm with one track per side
"Eight Miles High" on The Byrds' "Untitled"
    "Dark Star" on "Live/Dead"
"You Don't Love Me" and "Whipping Post" on the Allmans' "At Fillmore East"
"Words" on Neil Young's "Journey Through The Past"
"Chariots Of Fire" on Vangelis', um, "Chariots Of Fire"

Wouldn't that be "Songs that fill two sides"? :D Otherwise Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick" would count as well.
