Excellent list, all my absolute favs from 1992 are here, except Th Faith Healers' Lido and the soundtrack to Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me.
Also missing, but I suppose nobody knows him outside of France, Dominique A's debut album, La Fossette, featuring this great song.

My Top Ten list for 1992 would be:

    1.Leonard Cohen – The Future
    2.Pavement – Slanted And Enchanted
3.Angelo Badalamenti & David Lynch - OST Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me
    4.Dominique A - La Fossette

6.Lou Reed - Magic and Loss
    7.Pulp - Separations
    8.The Boo Radleys - Everything's alright forever
    9.Ride - Going Blank Again
10.Jesus & Mary Chain - Honey's dead (this album is so underrated, I like it better than Psychocandy!)
    11.Tom Waits - Bone Machine

Yes, my top ten list features eleven albums. :)

Not much argument from me, Lunapark is one of my all-time favorites, as is S&E from Pavement, and that debut by PJ Harvey has been a knockout for almost 20 years now. Bone Machine has been at various times my favorite Tom Waits. Lucinda Williams had a pretty damn fine record that year too in Sweet Old World. And Hector Zazou put together a great cast of talent for his tribute to Arthur Rimbaud in Sahara Blue, another big favorite. The Television reunion has always been a sweet spot for me in the early 90s, so that one would move way up for me. Same with Catherine Wheel and Morphine, but that's just ranking, they are all good. And I already mentioned Ultra Vivid Scene in another post, so I'll let the Rev omission slide for now :)

Another great year and cool list, but don't think I could come up with near that many picks even if I listed everything I have from 1992. Nice job, and a fun series.

    I'll add:

    Jonathan Richman - I, Jonathan
    Bad Religion - Generator
Social Distortion - Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell
    Bettie Serveert - Palomine
    Pale Saints - In Ribbons
    Curve - Doppelganger
    The Beautiful South - 0898
Freedy Johnston - Can You Fly
The Comsat Angels - My Mind's Eye
    Juliana Hatfield - Hey Babe
    Miracle Legion - Drenched
The Vulgar Boatmen - Please Panic
Luka Bloom - The Acoustic Motorbike
John Wesley Harding - Why We Fight
Daniel Ash - Foolish Thing Desire
Ed Kuepper - Black Ticket Day

and the aforementioned Chills' Soft Bomb

  16. Yep, this is my kind of list once again (and unlike me, it gets Spooky in the right year!) Which ones do I own proper physical copies of? Glad you asked, sort of...
Wow, Death In June! Don't think I've seen Douglas P and company mentioned 'round here before...

    Notable Omissions:

Pale Saints - In Ribbons ("Throwing Back The Apple" is awesome)
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 1985-92
The Black Crowes - Southern Harmony and Musical Companion
Helmet - Meantime (they will be forgiven for what followed...)

Also, I'd cooled on The House Of Love by this point, as they seemed to have slicked up their sound, but "The Girl With The Lonliest Eyes" was a great single. And, I've got all of Curve's EPs up to this point, but somehow never picked up Doppleganger. Now's as good a time as any, I guess...

Bertie serveert is there on my list.... About pale saints, got their records, but somehow their sound seems a bit slick to me. If i listen to a record of theirs it's their swansong 'slow buildings'

Hey g500, been meaning to ask about Priest=Aura since I know you probably have the German vinyl, how is that? I've been playing the original CD a ton lately, probably my favorite of theirs, lot of good memories for me around it, and while it sounds OK, I'm left wondering how the vinyl might've turned out. I know there's a couple big Church threads going on, but haven't done a lot of research yet, and recalled that it was on your list.

I'm not galaxie500 (and neither is he), but I think I can answer the question. The vinyl was a single disc, and since P=A is over 60 minutes long there's really no way it could be an improvement over the CD.

not mentioned so far, but pretty good: tori amos - little earthquakes, babes in toyland - fontanelle (though very much of it's time), magnapop - magnapop, primal scream - screamadelica, prince - love symbol, r.e.m. - automatic for the people, sugar - copper blue, wannadies - aquanautic.
