The tour that keeps on giving.... and taking $$$

Just saw an email from Music Direct, looks the Grateful Dead Records is re-issuing Europe '72 3LP set on 180g. Release date is scheduled for OCTOBER 11, 2011.

Guess the 2 WLP sets, 1 Warners Green label LP, 2 cassette, original 2 CD set and the just received Complete box set just won't be the last version I own. Why..? I'm not sure :help:

I was wondering when they would get to that. I have an original green-label pressing that I haven't touched since I bought the CD 18 years ago, should give it a listen before I take the plunge on this one.

Can anyone comment on the mastering and pressing quality of the new 3 LP Europe '72 set?

Chris Bellman and Bernie Grundman are names you can trust. They use vacuum tubes on their equipment, which gives everything that wonderfully warm, tubey sound. I really love their DEVO reissues.

This is going to be excellent.

Judging by the first of the three records, it's excellent. I plan to compare it to original pressings later.
