This is a repost of the original thread as I erroneously forgot to include the Beatles album "Abbey Road" which did indeed spend 3 weeks at #1 in 1970. It first hit number (for 8 weeks) toward the end of 1969 and then regained the #1 spot for an additional 3 weeks in early 1970.

Please vote for your favorite #1 album of 1970.

The albums listed in this poll are all the albums which reached #1 on Billboards U.S. Top 200 Albums Chart in 1970.

I knew the addition of Abbey Road would make a difference...

  4. Hmmm...I voted for "Let It Be" last time...should I go for "Abbey Road" this time" It'll win in a landslide, so maybe I should go for "Let It Be" again to balance out the scales...hmmm...
Honrablest mention to "Bridge Over Troubled Water", and next most to "Deja Vu".

    LZ II gets my vote.

I suspect AR will run away with this poll.

At this point it looks like Abbey Road will run away with the poll... but you never know.

I still haven't decided yet. It's a toss up between Abbey Road, LZII or LZ III...

Hmmmm, I bought Abbey Road when I was living in Coventry and working at Brico (British Piston Ring Company) Engineering. 1969.
I bought Let It Be when I was living in London and working at CAP (Computer Analysts & Programmers) - later to become CAP Gemini. 1970.

I cannot remember where I bought McCartney, but I very much prefer it to any of the others here.

LZII was winning the first time around when I erroneously omitted Abbey Road, amazing how one aspect can change the entire turnout.

It's all about "Octopus's Garden", innit?

No one can compete with that.

    Abbey Road.

Bridge Over Troubled Water is the only other album on the list that has aged well for me.

Was 'Layla' not a #1 album in 1970?

Hard to believe but the Layla album only made it to #16 on the US Billboard album charts. Arnie
