    Wikipedia is saying:

"On June 3, 2011, Andrew passed away from an apparent heart attack. He is survived by his wife Leslie Kogan, his three daughters from a previous marriage, his sisters Martha and Melani, and his mother, singer-actress Marni Nixon."

His website is pretty much outdated. I've seen nothing on his facebook page either.

First heard rumblings this morning, as reportedly Lee Sklar posted something about the passing, and the cause was attributed to cancer. Nonetheless, quite the loss. Very talented man.

RIP, man. I have a couple of his albums on vinyl. Glad I bought them when I did.

Sad news. He was so young, same age as my father when he died. Mr. Gold was very talented.

Sitting in a state of shock here. Will have to dig out a couple of his albums and play them as a tribute tonight. Met him once many moons ago what a nice bloke.

What a talented guy, and very nice. I dug up his e-mail address and contacted him and got a kind note back. Like Stephen Bishop, I could never understand why his solo career didn't have more "legs".

For whatever its worth, Wikipedia no longer says he's dead.

What a shock. Um, hope it's not true. Always enjoyed his records. RIP?
Why would someone make something like this up?

No actual news reports that I can find yet - or obit - just what you all are reporting from friends & what's on his FB page....

Sad....I worked in radio when he hit & used to grab every 45 of his that came across my desk.
