Post your favourite popular tracks of "today": music videos, live sessions: later with jools, david letterman,... (youtube, dailymotion, etc.)

No discussions about '60s & '70s vs now. Enough topics to disscuss this on the forum :D

  4. Paul Simon has performed lots of songs off his brilliant new album, "So Beautiful Or So What" both on TV, and on tour.
He appears tonight, Saturday May 14th, 2011, as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, and is listed as appearing in one sketch, and doing two songs from his new album.
So far on this tour, he has, at different times, done 8 out of the albums 10 songs from his album- usually featuring at least 4-5 songs, and as many as 6-7, at any given show.
He appeared at the end of last year on The Colbert Report, and then did a two night run on Jimmy Fallon that included material that was not broadcast, but was exclusive to his website. Sadly the video performances of "Love Is Eternal Sacred Light", and "The Afterlife" from the Fallon show have been removed from the net/web, but audio of "Love Is Eternal Sacred Light" is still available, and happily there is an official video of a live version of "The Afterlife" which was filmed during rehearsals for the current tour. The two nights on Jimmy Fallon also produced a version of "Cecilia" that found Paul dueting with Jimmy Fallon & being backed by the cast of "Stomp" for percussive propulsion. He also did a medley, that he's been performing on tour, of Jimmy Cliff's classic "Vietnam" that segued into the song it inspired him to write, "Mother & Child Reunion". Although you can no longer see the full performance of the medley, there are two separate videos of each song still available to view on youtube.
As soon as they are available I'll post the songs he does tonight on Saturday Night Live.
Maybe I'll even eventually add some of the higher quality videos of material from this tour. I didn't know if audience field recording videos were in the intention/spirit of this thread though, or if it were more focused on TV shows & official videos- which is what it sounded like, and I've erred on the side of caution.

Glad to hear that. I think they're being pushed pretty heavily online. They deserve it. The EP is absolute gold and the new album, while not grabbing me on first listen, is really good too. The album got pushed back a week to the 24th. It comes out the same day as She Wants Revenge. :goodie:

Not only online. I've heard them today on Studio Brussel, Radio 1 and FM Brussel in Belgium :) Three important radiostations.

    Nice tune for the summer.

Thanks, for bringing us some "self recorded videos", I still need to download the Esperanza Spalding-album this week from HDtracks!

Anyone compared the redbook version with the high resolution-files?

    Hooverphonic: Anger Never Dies

Their latest album is quite disappointing, but I like this single.

(Ex-)number 1 in Belgian and Italian airplay-charts. Top 5-hit in the "Official Sales Chart"
