Ooh! The fake WEA target CD thread!

I had the idea of making my own target CD labels, especially of those titles that should've been targets, but alas, weren't.

How about this one for starters?

Thanks, Joe! I'm using Adobe Illustrator for the Mac. The logos will be done in Adobe Photoshop.

Warning: this is only the beginning. There will be many more forthcoming! I hope to get at least one fake target up a day!

Kym, very cool! Thanks for doing this! Some of my votes for future fake targets:

* All other Led Zeppelin titles besides Zoso and Houses of the Holy

* The Doors Strange Days, Waiting for the Sun, and The Soft Parade

That's a good start!

Kym, how about some Coltrane? I'm thinking My Favorite Things and Giant Steps!

I'll definitely consider those, Keith. But these things take time!

Kym,

Excellent idea -- at first I thought this thread was going to be about that Prince "half-target".

Just for grins, how about a Cars - Heartbeat City (J)?? I always find that one at my local used shop and it gets me every time! Smooth sided jewel case, I'm just a sucker. The color would probably be a red target on a clear background.

I'll have to steal my wife's machine and get crackin' on Photoshop.

Kym, you realize that you opened up a can of worms, don't you? The requests will pile up now.

How about a target of Dire Straits Brothers in Arms?

Oooh, how about Metallica targets? Definitely Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning! Those would be way cool! I am guessing that Elektra released these on CD after pressing plants opened in the US, but targets would be cool to look at anyway.

Kym, another request. Perhaps some Frank Sinatra Reprise targets?

Ooh Ooh -- I love it!! Let's pretend that MegaForce was a subsidiary label of WEA for the Kill 'Em All release!! This will require an entirely new color combo!! Maybe a black background with a red target?!

Here's the original:

Awesome Kym!! Now that is great use of computer software!!!! I want that Robert Plant target!!! (I prefer the 1st one actually...)

Here's a couple of ideas from me...("Shoulda Been Targets...")
U2 "The Unforfgettable Fire"
Sheila E. "In Romance 1600" (Can't WAIT to see a Paisley Park target color combo)
Jim Croce "Photographs & Memories" (another new combo for 21/Saja Records !!! )

KEEP 'EM COMIN'!! You da man Kym!
