So, if I've already subscribed, I'll get this set ... or does the subscription begin with the next set?

    Cool.

I'm so glad they've veered outta the '69 and '70 period, for now, anyway. (Just not my favorite Dead.)

These are really high energy, well played shows. I'm looking forward to it.

I saw them on 3/24 in Atlanta and on 4/30 and 5/1/88 at the Frost (my fave ever Dead shows), damit, when am I gonna be able to get one of the shows I was at on faxctory pressed CD ? I've heard that Dead shows at Brenden Byrne were the most uncool, agro placse to see a Dead show, judging from the shows I saw at the Philly Spectrum, I believe it...but anytime a show opened with Half Step it had to be slighlty good at least...

It's hard to come up with any praise for Brenden Byrne itself. I was at the 10/16/89 'Nightfall Of Diamonds' show. On that night it was my favorite place in the whole wide world. I wouldn't want to have been anywhere else. They also turned Giants Stadium (on 6/17/91) into my favorite place in the world. There isn't another concert in a football stadium that I have enjoyed more. A good/great GD show definitely had the power to transcend some pretty tough places and situations.

good point, I've seen a few stadium shows that were awesome, but maybe that was the Gooney Bird....were these the shows where that kid was killed by security guards in the parking lot, or was that '89?

I was at several meadowlands shows circa 87-88 and yes it was pretty scary before and after the music. Picture being crushed up against the entry doors as beer bottles were smashing on the stadium above you and glass raining down.

I also had the pleasure of seeing some ***** kick a door open behind an elderly usher. The crowd mowed the old dude down and broke his arm.

Add steroided jersey-boy security the mix...i saw more than one skinny deadhead take a serious beating.

These are good shows for the era, but I'm just not that into 88'..

12/28/88 is one of my favorite's from that year. Check it out.

There's rumors that a 12/6 and 12/8/73 release is the next RT after this (we know the "bonus" disc for subscription is parts of 12/6/73) now THAT'S a set I'd buy in a heartbeat!

The Adam Katz killing was during the October 1989 run, as I recall.

I was at the 4/1/88 show. For the most part, it sucked. This is a really questionable release.

I can use this to as an example that I don't buy every Dead release.

It's always nice to hear they played well on your birthday...and it is a good show, if I recall the tape correctly.

Like the press release says, '88 had some great energy, although only at times imo. Some of the shows had the great flow, balanced sound and excellent performances the band was capable of in '89....and iirc, this is one of them. I'm gonna check to see if I have a copy of this already, because I recall the Estimated-Eyes had a great transition jam; but I might be thinking of another night.
