As you can download the Roy Rogers filmography of his movies at http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?p=5954006#post5954006, this is a thread devoted to the films of Gene Autry and I am attaching his filmography of his movies in PDF form right on this thread.
For information on "The Phantom Empire" (his first leading role): http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=229487
I'm a fan of many, many genres but have always avoided the "Singing Cowboy" movies. However the past few months, having watched several seasons of Green Acres on dvd, I did succumb and watch a few Gene Autry/Pat Buttram movies and lo and behold found them very entertaining. I'll have to watch for more on Encore Western.
Gene's movies are very entertaining and Gene's great friend Roy Rogers' movies, which Encore Westerns has also aired and they do air on RFD-TV as well are also entertaining. If you download the PDFs, you will know when they were originally made and released.
Melody Trail has been on VHS and not DVD, Singing Vagabond hasn't been on video at all, Red River Valley is a.k.a. Man of the Frontier, Comin' 'Round The Mountain hasn't come out on video at all, Prairie Moon hasn't been on home video at all, Rhythm of The Saddle hasn't been on home video at all, Western Jamboree hasn't been on home video at all, Blue Montana Skies hasn't been on home video at all, Mountain Rhythm hasn't been on home video at all, Carolina Moon hasn't been on home video at all, Sierra Sue hasn't been on home video at all, Cowboy Serenade hasn't been on home video at all, Trail To San Antone has been on VHS but not DVD, Saddle Pals hasn't been released on home video at all, Blazing Sun hasn't been on home video at all, Gene Autry and the Mounties hasn't been on video at all, Hills of Utah hasn't been on video at all, Night Stage To Galveston hasn't been on home video at all, Apache Country hasn't been on home video at all, Barbed Wire hasn't been on home video at all, Winning of the West hasn't been on home video at all, On Top Of Old Smoky hasn't been on home video at all, Goldtown Ghost Riders hasn't been on home video at all, Pack Train hasn't been on home video at all, Saginaw Trail hasn't been on home video at all. There are a bunch of movies that are readily available via public domain means, and many movies that have been released on Image Entertainent that are either out of print, with some going for big bucks as well as those still in print.
