Sure, all of them, except for the 78 (which I can't play). Try a different browser, and see if the images appear. They're PNG files.
Yes, but the content is actually cut like a 7". They'd leave a lot of dead area on the outer edge, I'm guessing to make them easier to handle and still keep the groove clean.
The condition on these varies. The "To Love and Be Loved" one has audible wear, but I got that from a relative of Nelson Riddle's, so it's history makes it a bit more special. The two ONLY THE LONELY ones are kinda noisy, but sound a bit better than a typical Capitol mono LP of the album. Not as good as the current Mobile Fidelity version though. "Willow" is in a bit better shape than "Ebb Tide". "Put Your Dreams Away" is in better shape than any of those, plays even better than it looks, and sounds fantastic. I'm not setup to play the "You, My Love" acetate, but visually its nice so it may sound good, at least re condition. One day I'll get them all transferred properly. The two records with radio commercial are in nice shape - one was graded NM, and the other EX by the seller I bought them from. That's pretty accurate. It's been a while, but I remember them playing in quite similar condition. Thanks all!
Martin, how many acetates would you guess were made of these, and who were they made for? I know Sinatra and the arrangers would get some, but who else?
Maybe some others at Capitol... A songwriter/publisher/etc. Hard to say for sure, and it would vary if someone would request one to be cut for someone else, etc. - like the one Nelson's relative got (but normally wouldn't receive one). Not many made though...
Doubtless they would've all been mastered in Hollywood, at Melrose prior to 1955-56 or the Tower thereafter.
