Cool article, thanks. I was just thinking about the sound on this album yesterday, and the article completely explains it.

Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

Thanks for this! I just played both the original CD and the remaster, and I have come away with a new appreciation for this album and Madonna. And, I never realized how much went into this album, Tony Thompson's extremely hard playing, and what a difference a simple change in a studio could do. I never realized that his drumming was such a major factor in this album.

"Like A Virgin" has always been one of my all-time favorite albums.

One thing is that I always thought it was a 16-bit master mix. It's 12-bits!

BTW, guys, for all the people who slag off Madonna, just think: she did her vocals without any pitch correction. And, she still could sing. A lot of people probably thought she just came in for the vocals, but she was there through the entire process from start to finish, and made hard decisions.
