I ordered this from Amazon UK which is selling for £51.99. They indicate that the title will be released on April 12, 2010. The label is listed as Decca (UMO).
Does anyone know anything more about this set? Will the CDs come in cardboard sleeves similar to those found in The Complete Columbia Album Collection?

I picked this up in HMV today for £40. It is a no-frills box of the 14 Prestige albums in individual sleeves - no additional packaging, booklet, or notes at all, nothing in the box except 14 CD's in card sleeves in two separate compartments.

Each sleeve has the LP cover reproduced on the front, but no liner notes - they can be found on this site:

    http://www.plosin.com/milesAhead/prlp/

The back of each CD sleeve contains brief tracklisting and personnel, all in the same typeface. Mastering information is included - these are the masterings done by Joe Tarantino and Kirk Felton in the late 80's and early 90's. Some bonus tracks are included, eg Dig is the '+2' version with 'Conception' and 'My Old Flame'.

The CD labels are not Prestige replicas, sadly, just uniform solid black with the Prestige logo and the album title.

The labels on the back of the box are Prestige, Original Jazz Classics, and Universal Music Group.

I am very pleased with it because it is an inexpensive way to obtain all these albums, and I was concerned this might be a current remastering, so I am pleased they used the old ones. The Chronicle box would seem to be a better alternative in some ways for the Prestige recordings, as it has a detailed booklet, but that was not available to me, and in any case I like having the actual albums to hand in replica sleeves.

A curious reissue - it will attract some of those who have enjoyed the detailed box editions of other Miles recordings, and these are bound to be disappointed with this. My copy is Italian, and dated 2009, although it only appeared here this week - I wonder if this is a regional (eg Italian-only) release which has been imported to the US and UK to fill a gap in the Miles catalogue, the Chronicle set being scarce these days, at least here.

    Great music, in any case.

    Just arrived from AmazonUK ,
these are in "fatboy" crystal cases , not cardboard
mini's as i thought , the covers are in the booklet ,
and it was under $60 shipped for 14 discs , so a rather
    good deal to be sure

Who did you order it from specifically? Amazon.co.uk is currently showing the set as "Sold by mrtopseller and Fulfilled by Amazon". I added the item to my cart (38 GBP), but I was informed that they won't ship to me in the U.S. This is the lowest price on the U.K. Amazon currently.

(The set is out of stock at $87 on amazon.com.)

Glad to reel this in as i had
very little Miles from the 1950's ,
are the late '80's masterings generally
    well thought of ?

Yes, the master for the alternate take of Blue Room is lost, so it has always been mastered from a vinyl copy.

I wonder if Concord released this in Europe to fight gray label releases? I'd bet the Prestige albums have been butchered by gray label companies. Maybe this is Concord's way to get a better version out at a decent price.
