They'll make some up to keep Deep Purple out.

Rolling Stone Magazine's website has a new interview with Mike and Tony from Genesis about the confirmation that they will go to the HoF. It seems that a reunion with Peter is not completely out of the question! :)

Very glad about ABBA and The Hollies. Didn't know that either group was played on FM and I thought AM acts don't count. Be interesting to see if all 4 ABBA members show up.

Yesssssss……Gabriel and Hackett in the house! Please, Lord, let it happen!!! Firth of Fifth! Phil behind the kit one final time! Tape the sticks to your hands, Phil, and bring it on home!

Awesome news that the Hollies made it. They totally deserve it.

ABBA-disgraceful when bands like Deep Purple aren't in.

I know who the Stooges are, but I can't name a single one of their songs.

Ah, that sinks one of my R&RHOF predictions, namely that Peter Gabriel would get in before Genesis.

Good time to find out then, isn't it? ;)

Sorry it took Ron Asheton's passing to finally get the Hall to give The Stooges the nod. :wtf:

I'm on the fence about ABBA, but I have no problem with this year's class in general.

Seems like one of the worst classes ever. The Hollies have done some nice work. Genesis also in spots, and the Stooges are interesting and influencial, but are these really among the rock elite? Jimmy Cliff is fine for the reggae wing. Abba a dismal choice.

If you love The Stooges, they certainly are among the elite. If The Ramones and The Sex Pistols are in, The Stooges belong there as well.

There's always one "dismal choice" each year, and this year it's ABBA. However, in a history of dismal choices, this one is hardly the worst they've done.

It's all a sham until Thunderclap Newman, Leo Sayer, Tiny Tim, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Roches and Kaplan Brothers get in. At the rate they're going, maybe 2012.

Here are the non-performing inductees, a far more interesting group in my opinion:

    David Geffen
    Otis Blackwell
    Mort Shuman
    Jesse Stone
    Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich
    Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil

I'm no Alice Cooper fan, but you would think he'd get in before ABBA.
