Blu-Ray / DVD / CD burner

I'm going to be building a new PC soon. I will be adding a blu-ray burner to it as well (they're in the $150 - $200 range finally).

Does anyone know anything about these? I'm interested in finding one which will accurately and easily rip my CD's as well (using EAC or something similar). I know with DVD/CD burners, some were better than others (some would only burn at say 8x, or 4x, where slower burning is better). I want accurate rips and burns out of it for audio CD's. I also will be using it for burning my HD videos (canon HD camcorder) to blu-ray as well.

Anyone have experience with these?

I have no issues with my Pioneer drive, so I can definitely recommend that.

In my media center I have an LG DVD/HDDVD/BD (reader only), and while it is good for media playback, I find it disappointing on the burning side of things as it occasionally fails on finalising discs and is very picky with media..

I started a very similar thread two days ago, you might find the responses there helpful:

I have had better luck with the Pioneer BD-R/RE drive than the LG drive.

Wasn't sure where to put this, so I hope this is O.K.:

"Sony and Panasonic Call to Increase Blu-Ray Disc Capacity."

Quote:
.....If the key developers of Blu-ray technology succeed in standardizing their recent achievements, then it will be possible to make dual-layer BD mediums with up to 66.8GB capacity.
Then there's this fun bit of info :

Quote:
......existing Blu-ray players and drives may be incompatible with the forthcoming BD media.
