Elton John - MTV Unplugged Tracks - Where are the highs?

Elton John's two officially released entries from the MTV Unplugged Compilations (Don't Let the Sun and Bennie, V. 2 &3) both show a sharp cutoff at around 16-18khz. (I can't tell exactly where because Audacity doesn't mark it clearly). This isn't present on the other tracks on individual albums (at least the ones I compared to), so I don't think it's a mastering issue. Could the tracks be taken from video tape rather than a lossless recording of the session?
