Will you re-buy the Beatles remasters in a different format?
If you've already purchased the remasters in mono, stereo or both (box or individual CDs), will you repurchase the same titles if they come out on another format? How about if it meant taking a second mortgage on your home?

While I would pop for the BDs I would never go for new vinyl. My existing LPs are fine.

No way. I have already bought several of these albums too many times.

I voted four, but I'd have to see what the new LPs would be like. If nothing amazing, my originals will do fine.

I'd surely buy blu-ray's. Not sure about LP's as I have plenty.

I really think it is a matter of when, not if, for these remasters to hit Blu-ray.

Not sure how I would answer that as of now
I mean, I have the BC-13, the MFSL box set, various Capitol versions in vinyl. So I am not so sure if I really need any more vinyl versions. The Blu-Ray maybe, but only if it was a true hi def digital version, and not a simple upsample of the current reissues. Now if SACD versions were to come around....

I would be surprised if Blu-ray could actually provide me with a meaningful increase in resolution, given my disappointing experiences with SACD and DVD-Audio.

My wife and I would like the vinyl. No BD player yet... but who knows.

If it comes out in cassette or 8-track, I'm all over it.

I would consider buying the Beatles catalog again only if it was on Blue-Ray and came with both mono and stereo versions with extra tracks (rarities, live cuts, demos, etc...).
As of right now, I own Sgt. Pepper in about 12 formats and versions |

My answer is not available as a choice.
I would buy them again if somebody mastered them without any compression on a high res format - DVD-A preferably. I have all the vinyl I need. |

I plan on buying the White Album on vinyl if it happens (and if they don't limit them to 100 copies each). That's about it for me. The mono box tapped me out.

If they mastered the vinyl from the 24/192 digital masters that reportedly exist, yeah, I'd seriously consider buying it. I'd prefer that they follow the approach reportedly used on the mono box (I haven't heard it yet) and remain as faithful as possible to the original 60s mixes - not sure I'd buy the White Album stereo remaster on vinyl, as it sounds pretty radically different from the White Album vinyl I'm used to.

I'd buy the Blu-ray for sure and this would make me buy the Oppo BDP-83. An expensive day this would be.

I'd love to have a vinyl box set of either stereo or mono. It would be great to have pristine copies of the albums. I don't have any interest in Blu-ray, however. I'm kind of hoping that format disappears.

Blu-ray would be interesting.
Maybe Barclay-Crocker could get the rights to put them out on reel-to reel. ![]() |
