Many hi-fi manufacturers modified their company logos over the years. But to me, Pioneer's modification of its logo was the most shocking. It went from the original....

    Original FOR SURE.

The new logo cries out WIMPY!

I prefer the old logo for audio equipment and the new logo for "other". Other would include Televisions along with Pioneer's numerous electronic offerings.

No poll option for that ;)

    I prefer the original.

When did the new logo come to be?

    I dig the original.

Gee, the former is preferred in an Older-Is-Always-Better forum.

    Who'da thunk?

Can't vote for either. The typography in both is pretty weak and dated.

But I do dig the ohm-tuning-fork icon in the oldie!

I think the new one showed up around 2000 A.D.

There are precious few CE marks that I'd call handsome... Parasound, Denon, Sony, Simaudio, Wadia.

    2¢ worth, I'm sure.

    Newer, but not more modern

I never thought much about Pioneer's logo until they changed it about 10 years ago. The new logo has, in my opinion, inappropriate for the product. It would work better for a household wood cleaner or a brand of peanuts. I voted for the old one, not because it was so wonderful, but because the new one is so awful.

The original has character. The new one...well...doesn't.

The first logo is not the original: The original 60s Pioneer logo had the OmegaFork logo but uses non-stylized lettering for the 'PIONEER' name. The stylized lettering came about in the early 70s.

Oops, you are correct, of course. Either way, both are superior to the latest.

BTW, what most obvious, prominent electronics company has never changed their well-known logo?

I went with the new logo for no particular reason other than my nicest piece of Pioneer gear, my HLD-X9, has the new logo. I really don't care about their logo much.

I've got some of both....and care what's under the hood more than the name-plate.
