What a career! Rest in Peace....you made the 80s great.

 

NO FRIGGIN' WAY. Damn. One of my all time favorite directors. Brought many smiles to those who've dug his films since that era. He totally helped make my childhood brighter with his films...

 

What a loss. What great movies he made. Home Alone will continue to be a classic for many, many years.

 

Sad loss.

Grew up on his movies. An 80s icon. Ferris and Weird Science are classics.

 

Damn, that's awful news. Fifty nine is way too young. RIP John. Thanks for all the terrific memories.

This STINKS. BIG TIME. I am in shock. I loved his films so much, I even have the soundtracks on vinyl of Sixteen, Pretty, Breakfast, Some Kind, Weird & Baby.

 

'The Breakfast Club' is one of my all time faves.
I think I'll watch my copy tonight.

Wow. Everything he did was classic, especially considering the bulk of his output was during the 80's. RIP.

 

A shame - 59 is quite young.

Interesting body of work - seems he's been mostly writing and producing since 1991's "Curly Sue".

"Sixteen Candles" is my fave film of his - cable has been showing it a lot lately and I get sucked in every time - classic.

Shame he didn't give us more since 1991...it's like he dropped off the planet after that. RIP.

 

Some Kind of Wonderful is one of my favorite films.

 

The man stepped away from Hollywood to raise his kids and run his farm in Illinois...a guy like that not only has my respect, but my ADMIRATION! RIP, Mr. Hughes!

 

John Hughes and Molly Ringwald kept the 80's from being lame. Sad news.

 

I agree that this is very sad news. 59 is very young.

 

This is very sad news. A heart attack at the age of 59 during a morning walk, I hope we can hear more about how that could have happened.
