SH Forums 'Glossary' - Please Contribute Your Ideas!

Friends,

Because of your inspiration, we have decided to compile a 'glossary' of commonly used terms on the Forums. We believe that this glossary will be very helpful to existing members, new members and lurkers (please join!).

We need your ideas for terms that should be included in the our glossary. In order to execute the process of compiling your thoughts in an organized manner, we have set-up an e-mail address for you to submit your ideas.

Please e-mail your ideas for terms to be included in our glossary to:

Again, this address has been established only for this project. All other Forum business should be conducted by contacting a Gort. Please, no spam.

We look forward to your ideas and contributions for the glossary. Steve has already completed his homework assignment (good job Steve!).

Once compiled and refined, the glossary will be available to all Forum users.

So who got stuck with the gig, Bob? Or is this one of those Gort Collaborations? I figured about now you guys would have assembled at Steve's for the annual Gort Convention, and you could make it a kind of 'working vacation.'

Is there any way to post a running list so duplicative suggestions are not submitted? Perhaps folks could post their submissions simultaneously with e-mailing them in?

 

We aren't merely going to just cut-and-paste suggestions. It will be a collaborative list. We may or may not use all.

Don't worry about dupes. If it's been done, your suggestion was ignored, albeit in good intention.

Doug Hess is also compiling the glossary so CC entries to Doug Hess as well

 

No point in duplicating the effort. I'll send the couple I got to the Gorts. I just volunteered since no one else did. Now that has been picked up by the Gorts...I'm happy to let them have it.
Once compiled, I would also be happy to post it with my interviews, but I would imagine there is space on here.

This is a great idea for us all to get hip to certain things we all have different amounts of knowledge on.

Norm truely a FAB idea. I will say this though, it ain't going to be easy as I'm sure it's constantly going to have to be upgraded all the time with new things as they continue to come along in by us and newer forum member's. Where this will go until it is somewhat or will seem to be complete should prove interesting as all get out.

 

Thanks man. I am pretty psyched that this idea has been embraced and is off and running. I know that I, for one will benefit from this glossary a lot and I look forward to watching it grow.
