    Compression?
    Gort?
    Needle Drop?
    Nauga?
    Tonality?

    What does it all mean?

How bout a spot on the forum with a list of frequently used words and abbreviations that newcomers and some of us older cats with damaged brain cells can refer to when necessary? True there is the search function but for some of these things a search will yield the phone book. Just simple definitions, examples, maybe even a picture!

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

There is this link found on the SH Interview page:

    Steve's AUdio Lesson

but I need more! Is there a website that gives a "flowchart" of the recording/mastering process? I'm still alittle confused as to which stage filtering, limiting, EQing, ordering for lunch, etc. is applied.

Well, this sounds great, but who has time to put it together?

    Anyone offering?

Don't forget "mono Beatles limiter splatter".

Bob, it's "murk and goosh", like anything recorded at RCA, Hollywood in the 1960's of a rock & roll nature...

Let's ask Jeff if we could add this section to the forum. Don't forget Nauga, and how it started from Gary.

    Steve,

I would be happy to compile the Glossary if a Forum member does not volunteer. I do believe this would be a valuable feature for members reading your posts and member's posts.

I can assemble a list, but I may not be the most qualified to do so. Especially the audiophile stuff...

    Wow!

    I feel like Sally Field!
    You like my idea!
    You really like it!

How bout a suggestion box in the glossary section? We can slip little words, abbreviations and phrases through the opening and they can be presented to the assembled, defined and revised or updated as necessary then kept on file. Keep it up top near the F.A.Q's maybe....

I'd like to thank the Academy...

    Thanks!

I can do it if no one wants to compile it. It can be an ongoing thing... Bottomless.

I think a glossary is a great idea and I would be happy to compile it and add it to the Interview page.
I think the easiest would be to have everyone E-mail the one's you started or coined or know to me and we'll go from there. Once compiled, it can be transferred over to here or left as a link to my site just like the interviews.
I'll also work on a flow chart.

Make sure your subject is: SH Glossary so I won't toss them like the 300 spams I get a day.

Another suggestion: an 'index' of significative posts and/or threads. You know, the ones people asking questions that have already been asked are always pointed to.

    Edit: Norm, great idea! :)

Next, we start a cult! :D
