I just got a copy of Deep Purple's Who Do We Think We Are on Audio Fidelity in the mail yesterday. I had ordered it along with the new Alice Cooper AF disc. When it arrived, it was missing the booklet. So, I contacted AF in the hopes of getting a copy of the booklet.

In my reply from AF I was told that they will be issuing Deep Purple's In Rock in July. This is super news! I had just been thinking of how great it would be to have a real nice sounding version of this album.

    Can't wait for July!

    Cheers,
    Chris

Thanks for being the bearer of good news!

It is starting to look like Audio Fidelity is going to be a serious player in remastering rock classics. Can't wait to hear the remastered "Child in Time."

Might as well do Fireball while they are visiting Deep Purple.

And where's my Alice Cooper, Love It To Death????

    NICE!!!

Hopefully it will be the original UK tracklisting (I'd have to assume it would be...).

Full intro to Speed King of course!
The UK master would have to be THE master!

I'm not sure I follow. You got this as an "early" or promo release from AF? Are you a platinum subscriber? Did you get it free, or were you charged?

I believe Ian Gillan said it best:

    "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

I have the DP Who Do We Think We Are and the sound is incredible. I can't say I have anything but great things to say about any of my AF discs. I just wish they would do more Doobie Brothers albums. Would love to have The Captain & Me or What Were Once Vices done by them. Another gooie would be Livin' On The Fault Line. But I have to say, that even though Minute By Minute is one of my least favorite Doobie albums, I do enjoy listening to my AF disc. I'm with some others, WHERE IS OUR LOVE IT TO DEATH ??

My favorite album of all time. Not an audiophile recording by any means but I can't wait to hear what Steve does with it. Any chance of getting the Black Night single as an extra track?

That would be nice, but do the AF discs ever add bonus tracks?

I think they're adding Get Up Jake to the upcoming The Band release. That's the reason I'm asking.

I'm not a Deep Purple "fanatic" by any means. I have never heard this album before.

This wikipedia article has got me interested in hearing it, though:

The first studio album by the "Mk II" incarnation of Deep Purple? Yes!

I would love to see all four of their studio albums on Audio Fidelity, but I guess it's unlikely that the often-reissued and iconic Machine Head would be allowed? (I'll remain hopeful though!)

    Mk II (1969-1973)
    • Ian Gillan - vocals, harmonica, percussion
    • Ritchie Blackmore - guitar
    • Roger Glover - bass
    • Jon Lord - keyboards
    • Ian Paice - drums

    Mk II Studio Albums
    • In Rock, September 1970
    • Fireball, July 1971
    • Machine Head, May 1972
    • Who Do We Think We Are, January 1973

The AF Deep Purple Live On The BBC Hybrid SACD contained 2 studio bonus tracks: Hush and River Deep Mountain High.

OK, Chris. This reminded me of a lunchtime political conversation. You bought into the program but didn't get what you were supposed to get. You ask about it and get told of something better in the future. So I'm left with the question, "Will you get you booklet?"

    In Rock, will rock!

Well, besides the AMAZING tip-off that In Rock will be headed our way in July, I also got the good news that AF will indeed be sending me a booklet for my copy of WDWTWA.

    It's a win-win situation!

    Cheers,
    Chris

Well, I guess that I'll just have to take that off your hands. ;)
