When's the Rickie coming out? That one's been on the schedule for like a year.

They need to start releasing some of these. A few of these these have been announced for quite a while now and they keep getting pushed back.

    Ain't that the truth.

The Foghat and Marvin Gaye titles were originally announced for a release last October, then November now March?

    I give up.

Yeah they all keep getting put back. It's actually really annoying, I'm wondering if there's ever been an MFSL title that's been released on time.

Also I'd like them to release some more modern stuff. I'm not much of a Beck fan so some other modern rock/metal would be most welcome. I expect they'll be announcing the Pixies Trompe Le Monde soon to finish off the series. But more 90s and even 2000 stuff would attract a wider audience I reckon.

I wish MFSL and the other reissue labels would pick something a bit more left field to release occasionally. I mean, I understand their choices (basically stuff that sold a lot first time round), but, c'mon...Linda Rondstadt? Again? Marvin Gaye? Didn't What's Going On have a deluxe release recently?

It is nice to see they're still planning on releasing some new SACDs.

What's Going On gets reissued every few years, whether it needs it or not.

I'm sure the MFSL will be welcomed by those who weren't happy with the sound of previous CD editions.

The 2-CD Deluxe Edition was released in 2001. I think it sounds nice enough, but it's not too popular in the Land of Audiophilia.

I like all of these titles but I wish they were able to do more Sinatra.

I think Odelay and Sea Changes will sound amazing but Sea Changes is really an odd choice as the SACD sounds marvelous already.

If Rush ever gets around to digging out the master tapes and supplying them to mofi, we're supposed to get their version of Moving Pictures and 2112. I hope to God they don't massacre the artwork this time!

Sea Change unfortunately makes a lot of sense because you can't play the stupid non-hybrid SACD in a CD player. SACD is a much smaller market for pop/rock than MFSL reaches. Notice how MFSL was never dumb enough to release non-hybrid discs. Non-hybrid SACD never should have existed.

I don't know of anyone who disagrees that non-hybrids were a disaster.

Odelay should be cool. I did not like the Deluxe Edition as much as I thought at first.

The Rickie Lee Jones title is actually pretty left-field, and it's in desperate need of a CD upgrade (the stock CD might be the softest, punchless-sounding disc I own). I commend MFSL for choosing Flying Cowboys, but I'm very disappointed at the delay.

Why can't MFSL do some Rush titles that they haven't already done!!! Why does MFSL redo any title they've already done? It makes no sense to me.

Yeah I wonder this a lot as well. Sort of an audiophile label phenomena. Is it because some titles are easier to get rights to?

Is it for business reasons as more popular titles may sell better?

Seems in the latter, most would be excited about a title that hasn't been done before.

Same reason as AF redoing DCC titles. Because people will buy them.

There's a thread about the MFSL Marshall Crenshaw somewhere around here. As Steve says, the top end on that lp was all-encompassing. I'm going to hold out on that one until I hear what some people around here say. I think the Rhino sounds awesome, but if MFSL puts some full bottom end and mid range on that puppy, I'll be going for their version as well. Wonder if they'll put on all those wonderful bonus tracks?
