Wow!!! So, not to be dense, but is that THEM?!?! I've been wanting to see something like that for over twenty years.

How did you come across this?

Very cool...I smell a Residents phase coming on...

  6. Well, it's the folks from the Cryptic Corporation. Are they The Residents? Well, uh...hey, look, Haley's Comet!

    Where?!!? Oh...

I mean, I figure it's them, but I was hoping for some confirmation. Keep dreamin', I guess.

Odd, I'm not a huge fan, but I just played Wormwood the other day. Cosmic synergy, I guess.

I've heard Hardy talk.... it sounds like THE SINGING RESIDENT to me!

  10. I've seen it asserted a few times that the CC = The Residents, but I don't think we'll ever have true confirmation from an "official" source. Stuff like this is probably as close as we'll get.

It's kind of like Jandek - we want to know, but then we don't really want to know either, as there's appeal in the mystery...

Yeah, once you know, that's that.

I'm gonna have "Smelly Tongues" in my head all day (the song, that is).

Wow! I'm far from being a fan of the band but in the day I like some of their material. The mystery has always been kind of cool and if that footage is really them it's amazing to see.

Now if we only knew who The Fireman is?:D

Well that ruined it for me. :) If that was them, I was hoping they looked weird, but they don't.... I think not knowing what they look like is better than knowing.

  16. The pages of photos from giant eyeballs are great!
    http://www.gianteyeballs.com/photos1.htm

So is this Hardy W. Fox (Cryptic sound engineer) & BIG MAYBE core music composer/main instrumentalist/vocals or
Homer Flynn (Cryptic Artwork) & BIG MAYBE composer/lyrics/vocals?

Or are those not their real names anyway and its just about anybody else you have not met yet!

  17. Well, the guy in the second photo with the Mr Dead Eyes head is Philip "Snakefinger" Lithman.

Strangely enough, HE'S the one that hiding from the camera..... well, his FACE!

  19. Some great guitar work from "Snakefinger" for sure!
I've got a blue 7" of his around here somewhere with the "The Spot" and "Smelly Tongues".
Its funny how the other three seem to be questioning or pondering his action!

Does anyone know the best source for the original mix of "This is a Man's World"? It looks like there was a remixed version on a CD called RMX, at least it sounds a little different to me.

Also, I'm confused about the 2005 remasters. Do most of those contain bonus tracks or not? Amazon and most other sources list them without bonus but some have extra material. For instance The Commercial Album shows no bonus tracks.

Only the FIRST issue ESD and TORSO has the bonus tracks.

Thanks Vince. Do you think they are worth seeking out for the bonus material? I've read several reviews that suggest that the CDs are better without it.

Also what do you think of Our Tired, Our Poor, Our Huddled Masses for a novice?
