Got a question about track 6 - Legs...

Do I have a wacked CD? Song seems like it is an edit at 3:35 in length... and is surely a different mix than I am used to hearing. Cover says it should be 4:36 in length..

    Anybody got the scoop?

    Discuss.

    Thanks!

    Bill,

Perhaps they included the single edit versus the LP mix? (Just conjecture on my part).

    Bob:)

Hi Bill, mine's 4:34 in length so I'm not sure what the deal is.

Bill, no it was never released by DCC or MFSL. Which pressing do you have? Is it a target (first West German or Japanese pressing) or a later US pressing? As far as I know, there is no official remaster out there.

    Bill,

Not that I am aware of. I did some checking here. There were several lengths and mixes of this track issued through the years including a single edit, LP length version and 12" re-mix.

I suspect that you "got" the single edit.....

    Bob:)

    That stinks...

Do you know some numbers that I can check to get the LP Mix?

    Thanks!

The hit single version of "Legs" is definitely a remix.

this was a remix for sure... shorter, harmonies were brought out more, lead seemed to be verbed a bit..

I don't like it at all....

In the beginning, the LP had a straight mix to it, but even the LP got redone not too soon after the year it was released. So the remix replaced the original LP mix that's on it.

You possibly have the original pressing. Mine is much later, bought in 1988, and my LEGS is 4:34.25

Bill, I may be able to get the original 4:34 on the standard "Eliminator" up here if you like. Let me know.

Now if we could just get rid of that stupid huge drum sound!:sigh:

Mine's 4.35 on a very early pressing - made in Hannover by Polygram, long before WEA got their pressing plant set up in Allsdorf.

SO I should look for a Polygram copy rather than Warner?

I have two versions of Eliminator, and "Legs" runs 4:35 on both. One version is the Japanese target disc. The other one is an early BMG copy made in the US by Digital Audio Disc Corp.

My copy of Eliminator says "Mfg. by WEA Manufacturing" and is made in the U.S.A. It has the correct 4:34 mix of "Legs" and I just verified it. I bought this many years ago when we still had longboxes.

    The ring # is "1 23774-2 SRC+08".

Mine says Made In Canada by Cinram on the bottom of the CD itself. On the back panel it says Distributed By Warner Brothers Canada. Catalog # CD 23774. Legs 4:35.
