My brother, who is a Sun Microsystems high muckity-muck is on a conference call all day today. I doubt that he's involved with this, but an email might be worthwhile. I'll see what I get in return.

That's really a misguided decision. Blu-ray is nowhere near an established format. What other formats will this be available in?

If this begins the migration of high-res audio to BD then it is an absolutely momentous announcement.....

This is cool and all, but I have to say that when it comes to music, I still want it on CD, not on any video hybrid disc. I don't want to have to turn on my TV to listen, I want to be able to play it in my car, etc.

I suspect there will be audio only CD distillations of some of the material. And I guess that's fine.

I would also opine that if the legendarily picky Neil has to ultimately sign off on an A/V adventure (rather than just music), this project may get even further delayed.

I wonder if there'll be a bonus disc devoted to Lionel Trains? :-)

So disc 3 is 'Topanga 1968'. I'm guessing that's going to be Buffalo outtakes and solo demos..

Seems like he is releasing his Archive 1 as a 5 volume series of 2 Blueray discs per volume. Wonder if he will release it as normal cd's? However a the conference he doesn't seem to mention it
