Since there are no more record stores, they should stop putting those stupid labels on the top of new CD's. I'm sure we all have our handy way of removing them by now, but they are a real pain. Sometimes they leave a nasty residue despite your best removal effort.
You can't flip through the racks on Amazon or CD Universe & see the tops of the CD cases.

Europe & Japan are smart enough not to use these blasted things.
I think it is time to do away with them, the labels can save a few bucks too.
OK, my Andy Rooney rant is finished for the day.
Anyone else hate these pointless stickers? Anyone like them?

Some label have stopped using them...hopefully the rest will follow. I really hate the ones that leave a residue.

(We need a "catch phrase" for this.....then it is on to bumper stickers and yard signs!)

I have that stuff but who wants to sit around wiping gunk off of jewel cases?

It takes less than five minutes.

If you have time to sit and listen to music, you have time to take a sticker off of the occasional jewel case. I don't see why it's that big of a deal.

If there is no Goo, there is no need to buy Goo-Gone.

    Down with Goo!! :realmad:

It's really not that big of a deal truthfully.

We'd be better off w/o the sticky crap on the jewel cases. Wouldn't you agree?

When there are no more cds this won't be a problem.

Some of them actually break up in the process. There's some I've spent considerably more than 5 minutes on

As the original poster said, if they are sold online, the anti-theft defense seems to be irrelevant.

I for one, would be glad if something could be done about the DVD's with excessive security seals sold on line, as well :)

euclyptus will also do the same job but have to be very minimal in its use. it melts plastic. just buy in bulk some blank cds cases, computer bulk stoes usually sell by the 100's at a cheap price and is a good way to clean up your cd storage with good cases.

I do agree tho, down with case stickerage !!!!!!!!!

I think these seals are even more annoying with DVDs, because with CD jewel cases they can be removed quite easily by unhinging the case. This is not possible with DVD cases.

The longer you've waited for the cd the harder it is to remove the label.

It's a lot easier not to have the problem in the first place.

Try to unhinge the cover from the bottom first. Once the cover is apart from the back, slowly peel apart. Doesn't always work perfectly, but you should get at least most of the sticker off.
