It was 39 years ago today that the Bealtes performed on the roof top of the Apple building.

Thanks for the reminder. I hope that they passed the audition, along with The Beatles who played there the same day. ;) (check your spelling)

I wrote that on my white board in my cubicle today. I also listened to the Complete 2 CD Rooftop Concert on Yello Dog this morning.

Where is that Let It Be movie? I'd love to see the whole rooftop concert unedited without leaving the rooftop.

Man, how they could play anything decent at all up there amazes me. They looked really cold, except for Paul somehow.

Did you ever try to play guitar with your hands freezing ? I have, and it isn't pretty.:)

    Don't let me down!

The weather here in Seattle is exactly like the weather was in London 39 years ago today; which is to say raw, grey, cold and stay-insideish. On goes Let It Be in the CD deck! And a cuppa.

Ringo looks quite jaunty in his plastic mac.

I remember when the cops came through the door and told us all to get off the roof. Bummer!

I think he borrowed it from Maureen , if I remember correctly.

It's on sale at Tower Records on the Strip next to the Beatles remasters.

Man, I'd love to get my hands on some of that wooden planking used for the floor on that rooftop. Wonder if it's still there? ROAD TRIP!!!!!

Thanks for the reminder! I took some pix there last year. People were walking down the street looking up, then back at me, in utter confusion about why some clown was taking pictures of the building.

Can't believe there's absolutely NO indication on the street that anything historic ever happened there.

BTW, the location of the shooting of Bowie's Ziggy cover (i.e., my avatar) is more or less right around the corner, equally unnoticed by Londoners and tourists.
