Peak levels are exactly the same. Most likely they are the exact same masterings. IIRC, some of the 25 8P's are the same some are not?

 

No wonder I ended up selling my WG Atomic Exit Stge Left, I thought they sounded identical.

All of the ones I have done comparisons on sounded the same (I do not have EAC to confirm this). It would also be interesting to get results for the Rush discs released prior to the 25 8P series.

Please someone tell us the Hemispheres and Farewell to Kings are the same as well The Japan discs are going for ridiculous prices

 

All I'm going to say is I'm glad I got all of the RUsh Japan CDs - both the Sony and the unique AMCY masterings - all for under $20 each. Paying $100+ for each is ridiculous.

 

Just acquired the 25 8P of Signals unlike Exit... it is different from the atomics. and is possibly a unique mastering. Have not listened (a/b'd) to it yet, probably won't do it until this weekend at the absolute earliest. I'll post my results/opinion when I do.

Been awhile since I listened to the SOny versions, but the Sony, later Japan only Atlantic, and the Mercury/Polygram pressings are all different masterings. I never really compared the Canadian Anthem ones. They only became the same with the remasters.

Nope. All of 'em as far as I know.

All of the albums didn't get reissued each time, though. The Sony pressings never had a S/T, FBN, CoS, or ATWAS. The Sony pressings started at 2112 and everything up through ASOH was done. Some had two pressings (PoW, GUP) by Sony - full price and then the 25 8P pressings.

The Atlantic line from 90/91 is the first introducition of S/T, FBN, CoS, and ATWAS in Japan.

The Mercury/Polygram and 25 8P of Exit Stage Left are the same mastering, or at least the EAC values are the same. See the first post in this thread. Is Exit an exception?

Strange how it's not always the same tracks that are the loudest on different masterings.
