I have resisted the urge long enough. Here it is . . .

The roller bearing shelves are home built and I'll post them on the low cost tweeks or home-built threads.

It`s a good idea to start this thread again:) Cool system, how dow you find NAD?

The NAD is the best disk player I've ever owned. I know some others have had operational issues but mine has worked flawlessly for almost a year now.

My other player is a Denon 2900. It is good too, but not in the same class as the NAD.

Can you listen HDCD and Super Audio CD on your NAD?

Plays anything that comes on a silver (or gold) disk!

Upsamples redbook CDs to 24 bit too.

You know these threads are just bad news for me.

I really like my system but these threads make me drool sometimes :)

All I can think about is upgrading and I can't afford to do that!

Not my main rig, but the prettiest, IMO: The Columbia Viva-Tonal 810.

A rather rare bird as phonographs go. Works great!

What's the lyric from that Sheryl Crow song, "It's not getting what you want, it's wanting what you have."?

Easier said than done I must say. Since joining this forum, I've dumped over $12K US into music and equipment. And that was after dumping about $8K into two big screens and a HT system.

I gotta say, I love being at home though!

I wish I could. I'm not an EE. If someone does have a clear concise explanation, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt my feelings if you provided it.

All I know is it makes a well mastered redbook CD sound divine.

    Thanks,
    Eric

    BigE,

I like that SolidSteel rack. I wonder if I should add a slab of granite to my gear. :)

Tell me about it. If buying - or in some cases re-buying - all the cd recommends I'm now considering auditioning a Rega Apollo against my Naim cd5i!

I seriously need to unsub from this forum

    Yep.
I have no affiliation with this player; never heard or seen one. :shh:

That's one sweet player! Is it electrical amplification or does it just have one big horn fed off that tonearm?

I just bought about 100 78s and I don't even have a player. I'd seriously consider one like yours over a modern turntable, just to get that vintage tone. I just don't have room right now to fit it in anywhere.

    Lee,

The granite was a freebie I had cut to fit a Target coffee table that I used as a rack prior to SHTV Forum membership!:shake:

First came the turntable, then the tubes; gotta have a good multidisk player afterall, oh and speakers. Well I spent enough on gear now I can't use a coffee table for a rack now can I? DVD-A? Sure I'll buy 50. SACD? Sure, why not? DVD-A is a dead format right? Vinyl? Absolutely. Got to clean all that vinyl dontcha? Well my friend, you can't do without a VPI 16.5. On and on. You all know the drill.:agree:

sure, here is a recent picture (sorry for the crappiness of it, I did it in a hurry and the room is small... anyway)

This is shot from behind the couch, the room is about 13' wide, 13' deep, and the couch is located such that the seat is exactly in the middle of the room- so its set back a little.

Keep posting pictures or mean ole Uncle Steve will think we're talkin' too much and lock this one down too!

Cybermantis, your Marantz 2270; how many watts per channel is that pumping out? I've got a 1250 integrated and a 2110 tuner I've got to get in to the shop for cleaning. Love that vintage Marantz gear!

70wpc, it sucks a good bit of power- my appt doesn't have 3 prong outlets in my room, so I have an extension cord coming from the kitchen  and at times I am quite worried I'll trip the circuit breaker! I'll take another picture soon that should be a bit better :)

    Heres an action shot

I've posted my setup before...only difference now is the Scott tube tuner is sold, thus an empty space exists, waiting for my SL-1700MK2 'table to return (needs new patchcords).
