I have a few. The most obvious of course is also one of the most famous: Sgt. Peppers. The differences between the mono and Stereo version is unreal, but there are entire websites dedicated to that anomaly. "Meet The Beatles" is almost unlistenable compared to the Mono. "The Monkees" first album sounds better to my ears in mono. Nat Cole's "Just One Of Those Things" sounded much better in Mono until Steve Hoffman Re-mastered the Stereo version. I constantly come across mono versions of LP's in the thrift stores...any that come to mind that you prefer over the stereo?

The mono mix of the song "Indication" by the Zombies is much better than the stereo mix.

I have only heard a needledrop of the mono Highway 61, but boy did it rock. It has a real punch I never heard in my stereo lp.

I wish they would re-issue some of the Dylan in mono on LP-I've been hearing for years how great many of them are...but they're hard to find!

Ive never hear "Something Else" by the Kinks in mono. Is it pretty much universally accepted as "the" mix ? Kind of like "Revolver"?

I'd take mono Beatles' Second Album. Money in stereo just has too much echo (and I'm normally a stereophile, folks).

Seems like it all about the Beatles when comparing Mono mixes. Some of the worst Stereo mixes ever? Maybe they were rushed because of the rapid fame?

one song I heard recently, courtesy of a new Ace cd, is Del Shannon singing Maries the Name (of His Latest Flame).

The stereo is so bad, I thought one of my speakers might have died, there was nothing coming from it for so long. The mono has got to be better.

  18. How about "ALL OF THEM!!!" :)

Seriously, I can't think of anything available in true mono that I don't prefer to the stereo version. But if I HAD to pick only one - "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5. The original mono mix on the 45 OBLITERATES any stereo representation ever appearing on an LP.

Most of the the tracks on the mono 'Second Album' are fold downs, including "Money", but you probably know that.

True for the US album, but the UK With The Beatles has a true mono mix, including Money.
